Abstract

The study of the nervous system is related to behavior, emotions and memory and is directly related to the stimuli that man has,  hether of the organism or the external environment. According to some studies, there are neurons that grow throughout life, a  henomenon that bears the name of neogenesis or neuroplasticity, which may migrate to areas affected by neurodegenerative  iseases, for example. The aim of this article is to understand, from neurophysiology, the nervous system's ability to adapt and  eadapt to stimuli. To carry out the study, literature review surveys were used between the years 2009 to 2019, in the databases  cielo,  ilacs, Google Scholar, PubMed, Medline, with topics relevant to the subject being discussed. Keywords in Portuguese and English  ere  sed, namely: Neurons; Neural Plasticity; Synapses; Neuroplasticity and Neurons; Neural Plasticity; Synapses; Neuroplasticity.
